Beeson Professor Osvaldo Padilla sits down with Gerald McDermott to discuss the presuppositions of higher biblical criticism, the role of doctrine in biblical interpretation, and the impact of Anglicanism on his reading of the Bible.


Osvaldo Padilla is Associate Professor of Divinity at Beeson Divinity School where he teaches New Testament and Greek. He is the author of The Acts of the Apostles: Interpretation, History and Theology and The Speeches of Outsiders in Acts: Poetics, Theology, and Historiography. His research interests include Luke-Acts, Matthew, 1 Peter, suffering and mission, ancient and modern historiography, and Greek New Testament in the context of Hellenistic Greek.
