For this spring's Text to Sermon lecture series, we will be joined by several Birmingham community pastors as they go from Scripture text to the delivered sermon.

Rev. Nathan Carden will discuss how he moved from the text of Luke 2:1-7, 8-16 to his delivered sermon, "Wrapped in Swaddling Clothes."

A native of Andalusia, AL, Nathan grew up in Alabama and Georgia as the son of a minister. He has served in churches in FL and TN prior to moving to the Birmingham area in 2010. He is married way out of his league to Kameron, his girlfriend from high school who works as a speech pathologist and oral deaf educator. They have three spirited children, J. Henry (14), Amelia (10) and Hanna (9). When not at work he can be found herding children, fishing, reading and building things.

Nathan is fulfilled when helping people find the peace and purpose that only comes through Jesus Christ. He says, "Jesus Christ gave me a better story to live than the one I was writing for myself. Every day I get the chance to help others experience that hope, and I can't imagine being a part of anything better than that."

Nathan Carden became the lead pastor of the Church at Ross Bridge in July 2017.
