Effective July 30, following new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH), Samford University is requiring all persons on campus, regardless of vaccination status, to wear face masks in all public indoor settings.

Dr. Pasquarello will examine John Wesley’s sermon “On the Wedding Garment”. It was one of his last, dated from 1790, and the text he chose was Matthew 22:12.  This is one of Wesley's most important sermons, in that it shows the continuity of important convictions that were expressed in his earliest sermons, especially "The Circumcision of the Heart" from 1733.  The emphasis in both sermons is on the unity of faith and love as the mark of true holiness, and that participation in God is the essence of Christian existence. Complimentary lunch is included. Registration is required.

Join us on campus this fall for the Text to Sermon lecture series in October. "Back to the Future: Examining Sermons from the Christian Tradition" is this fall's theme as four Beeson faculty members explore the sermons of great preachers of the past.
