Effective July 30, following new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH), Samford University is requiring all persons on campus, regardless of vaccination status, to wear face masks in all public indoor settings.

Dr. DeVine will examine Charles Haddon Spurgeon’s sermon on Psalm 119: 6 in which the great Baptist preacher of the Metropolitan Tabernacle London explores two themes prominent in the Bible, but less so to contemporary audiences—shame and fixation on the Lord’s commands. Complimentary lunch is included. Registration is required.

Join us on campus this fall for the Text to Sermon lecture series in October. "Back to the Future: Examining Sermons from the Christian Tradition" is this fall's theme as four Beeson faculty members explore the sermons of great preachers of the past.
