Samford Hosts the Disability and the Church Conference
Church leaders and congregation members across the state gathered for “Disability and the Church,” a one-day conference to explore disability ministries for all ages. The conference was sponsored by Samford’s Center for Congregational Resources along with partner sponsors Beeson Divinity School, Center for Faith and Health, Center for Worship and the Arts, and Orlean Beeson School of Education.

Samford’s Beeson Divinity School to Host Conference on Racial Reconciliation with The Institute on Religion and Democracy
Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School and the Institute of Anglican Studies at Beeson in conjunction with The Institute on Religion and Democracy (IRD) based in Washington D.C. will host the Racial Reconciliation and the National Covenant: A Conference at Samford, Feb. 12-13, 2019, featuring Alveda King and eleven other noted speakers.

Gignilliat and Robertson Earn SoCon All-Conference Awards
Two Samford employees have earned Southern Conference (SoCon) 2019 All-Conference Faculty and Staff Awards. Beeson Divinity School Professor Mark S. Gignilliat received the faculty award. Ginger Robertson, administrative assistant in the Brock School of Business Department of Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Management and Executive Education received the staff award.

‘Serve the purpose of God in this generation,’ Elijah Brown Tells Samford’s Beeson Divinity Graduates
“David served the purpose of God in his generation,” Baptist World Alliance (BWA) General Secretary Elijah Brown told the 31 graduates of Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School during its commencement and service of consecration Dec. 7. Like David, “you can serve the purpose of God in this generation.”

Each year, Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School sponsors the Reformation Heritage Lectures during Reformation Week featuring a world-renowned scholar. This year's presenter was Kevin J. Vanhoozer, research professor of systematic theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
