The Divinity School's library collection is located within the University Library. Divinity books and periodicals are integrated into the wider university holdings, but the majority of divinity books are found on the second floor of the library in the B classification. Though these resources primarily serve Beeson's students and faculty, we are glad to welcome clergy and other members of the greater Birmingham community to visit the library. Below are some helpful links for library resources.
The Samford University Library Catalog is the doorway to using divinity research materials (especially books) in the University Library. "Keyword" searching is the default setting, but tabs allow users to switch to "author", "title", or "subject" searching. Students & faculty can access their patron record through the catalog also.
All good theological research involves accessing periodical (or journal) literature. Most academic theological journals are published 2, 3, or 4 times each year. Most journal issues include several articles as well as book reviews and perhaps editorials. The ATLA Religion Database is the primary index for the thousands of articles, book reviews, etc. that are published every year. Current students and faculty can access these databases through the link above. Alumni can receive access by registering at the alumni library resources page.
