Missions Emphasis 2013

October 8-10

The purpose of Go Global missions emphasis week is to educate, connect, and mobilize students for the Great Commission. Off-campus guests are invited to join our students to be: 

  • Introduced to representatives of evangelical missions agencies
  • Exposed to practical and Biblical teaching to motivate and equip towards missions
  • Made aware of the variety of ways God can use each students' gifting for the expansion of the kingdom

Jeffrey Lewis

Director of the Global Center and Assistant Professor of Intercultural Studies at California Baptist University

For more than 27 years Jeff has been a global activist and mobilizer for the Great Commission through a variety of ministry positions, and through speaking both nationally and internationally. He has worked in some 36 countries assisting field personnel and indigenous church leaders with mobilization strategy development and implementation. Jeff has also served as a church planter, pastor, college minister, and mission consultant. Jeff was co-founder of the Passion conferences a national student conference calling students to a passionate pursuit of knowing God. His areas of academic expertise include Biblical foundation for missions and mobilization, Discipleship, and Spiritual Intimacy and Global Engagement, and Kingdom of God. Jeff is the author of God's Heart for the Nations (Caleb Project, 2002) and contributor to, Discovering the Mission of God: Best Missional Practices for the 21st Century (IVP, 2012) . Jeff holds a B.A. in Human Service from the University of Tennessee and an M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the father of seven and grandfather of 14 and resides in Redlands, CA with his wife, Elaine.
