Giving Opportunities

At Beeson Divinity School

Beeson Divinity School Fund

A gift to the Beeson Divinity School Fund supports our operating expenses including faculty development, the annual Beeson Pastors School, the Lay Academy of Theology, preservation of Hodges Chapel and library enrichment. It also provides  funds for Student Services when a need for professional counseling arises or to aid students in a financial emergency.

Student Commons Renovation and Expansion

A major need for the facilities of our school is a common area designed for our weekly community lunches, small group study spaces, and a central coffee lounge area open to everyone as a place for conversation and interaction.  The unfortunate closing of our in-house Cokesbury Bookstore has provided an opportunity to weave this empty space into a larger concept addressing these needs. Thanks to a very generous leading and matching grant promised to Beeson Divinity School by a dedicated benefactor, we are encouraged that this renovation can be a reality by fall of 2015. Beeson League of Churches

Congregations can support the  Beeson Divinity student financially while mentoring and incorporating the student into the life of the church. Learn more here.

Other Student Scholarships

All full-time M.Div. and M.A.T.S. students receive scholarships covering between 40-95% of tuition costs. One of our fundraising goals is to provide full-tuition scholarships for all students.

Charles T. Carter Endowed Baptist Chair of Divinity

The charter of Beeson Divinity School specified that funds must be allocated to endow Presbyterian, Methodist and Anglican faculty chairs. As part of the celebration of Beeson's 25th anniversary, it is our desire to see a Baptist chair endowed alongside these existing chairs to continue the strong interdenominational legacy that Ralph Waldo Beeson provided. This chair has been named in honor of Charles T. Carter. Click here to learn more about this opportunity.

The Global Center

The Global Center helps divinity students and the Birmingham community to better understand and participate in world Christianity.  A gift to the Global Center will help fund international speakers, conferences and guest artists who help make divinity students aware of the needs and work of the worldwide church.
