This degree offers a balanced curriculum of Biblical studies, historical and theological studies, spiritual formation, and ministry leadership development.

Master of Theological Studies

The Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.) is a general academic degree. It is designed for laypeople who want to broaden and deepen their understanding of the Christian faith. Admission to this degree is selective and limited to 15% of the total student body.

Doctor of Ministry

The Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) is the highest earned degree for the practice of Christian ministry. The design of the degree is to enhance understanding and to improve skills of the minister whether in the local congregation or some related field. Joint Degree Programs

Dual degree programs allow students to earn two degrees concurrently with fewer credit hour requirements than are needed to earn the degrees separately. Joint degree programs require admission to each of the respective schools and must be pursued concurrently. In conjunction with other schools of Samford University, Beeson Divinity School offers a Master of Divinity/Master of Business Administration, a Master of Divinity/Master of Science in Education, a Master of Divinity/Doctor of Jurisprudence, and a Master of Divinity/Master of Music.
The Master of Divinity degree with a church music track is also available in conjunction with the School of Music.
